Which bikes are people cross-shopping with the Pursuit? Or are you set on getting the Pursuit?

For me the only other bike I'm considering is the Kawasaki Vulcan 1700 Voyager because of it's pricing and I've heard they're reliable bikes.

I am eying the BMW Grand American. The Charlotte dealer has a few in stock. I currently ride an R1200RT that I really enjoy, however I do miss the VTwin engine and my wife is more comfortable on a bigger bike.
If my Pursuit takes much longer to be delivered this will be the route I take.
For me, it's Black Yamaha Eluder/Venture, and the 2022 Road Glide CVO in Blue Steel, a blue Indian Pursuit. It's still hard for me to pick out the clear winner.
I haven't bought anything yet, But I will buy it in the future I have heard a lot about Yamaha YZF-R1

I've demo both of them brands and in my honest opinion the Indian handles better than the bmw rt,Yamaha venture, ultra classic, and the gold wing, victory now grant these were demo rides so only limited miles on each, except the harley, Indian i rented and the Indian to me is well worth waiting for!!...
I rode Harley for over 20 years, then switched to Indian. The Pursuit is the touring machine that all others wish they were. The only bike on par is the Goldwing but they don't have any legroom.

I just came off a 2018 Honda Goldwing for the Pursuit. I loved the GW, but it just didn’t have that feeling that I really think a motorcycle should have. If you know, you know.

Welcome to the forum.
What other bikes did you consider before going with the Pursuit?

Hello! I looked at the BMW GA also. I’ve had a few Motorrad products over the years and while I love the smooth motor pull from start and the fit/finish, I don’t like how tall the bike feels to me and how I feel like I am sitting “on” it, not “in it”. I have been quietly lusting these beautiful Indian models for a while and decided to pull the trigger on the Pursuit Dark Horse Premium.

@Donuts Thanks for the warm welcome to this forum! I love the motorcycle community for these very reasons. The Indian Pursuit is a gorgeous machine to me. I’ve owned pretty much every large bike out there over the last few decades and this bike is just stunning visually to me. My last Harley was very problematic including several breakdowns and a lot of fit and finish issues. It was a 2017 CVO Limited and I swore once I got rid of it, that would be it. I went to a 2018 Goldwing and I have honestly loved this bike. But, it just doesn’t have that true motorcycle feel. Mine was the 6 speed manual, so I didn’t do the DCT for transparency. Have a friend that has the DCT I have a ridden it. It’s wicked fast as it can outshift me and has 7 “gears” or shift points, but it feels like a very large scooter (not that scooters are a bad thing). I just enjoy shifting (both cars and bikes) so it wasn’t that thrilling to ride to me personally. The Pursuit is a beautiful touring bike with all of the features we would want for long touring. The storage capacity is much greater than the GW (we are still minimalists for road touring but jeez the GW went from 150L to 110L of storage which was backward to me). All in all, I love this machine. 200W sound system, the Ride Command is buggy at times, but tolerable (the GW hasn’t had a map update since 2020 and is NOT a touch screen). I love this bike!

I am curious. I always through my 'wing had limited leg room and I always thought it needed a sixth gear. The Pursuit has a sixth gear, is it enough?

Sorry to hear about your issues with your Harley. But at least it lead you to the Pursuit. It definitely is better looking than a lot of bikes on the road.
